Actually, that does help. I never pursued FamiltyNet as an option because my
first contact was with a web page that screamed "RATED G", and
indicated that
my BBS would have to be as well if I wanted to join. If they're getting lax in
their policies I might be able to squeeze in. However, my version of "kid
friendly" is "if a kid can figure out to to get as far as my
system, we'll be
friendly to him". :)

Now, by "essentially Usenet in Fido PKT form", do you mean that
someone on that
end is providing a usenet-to-familynet gateway service, or it just has a bunch
of message areas that are "usenet-esque"?

Semi-seguewaying to/from what someone else said about not providing file areas,
wh which I agree: There are some things that are just too easily provided on
the Web already. For the same reason I'll probably not be offering netmail
accounts. But I -will- be setting up support on the website of certain choice
textfiles and archives. I don't see why I couldn't offer some sort of Usenet
via the website, if it could be done without simply throwing a few links up and
abandoning the user. My main goal here is to expose those to usenet who have
not been before.
