-> CA>> When one company monopolizes a product and the price seems
-> CA>> unusually high that bothers me (SONY comes to mind).

-> RJT> Yeah, but they don't "monopolize" anything in the sense of
-> RJT> equivalent functionality not being available anywhere
-> RJT> else. And nobody forces you to either buy their product or
-> RJT> to without.

-> SONY had practiced price fixing for many years threatening to
-> remove all SONY products from any retailer's stores that
-> attempted to lower prices on SONY products without SONY's
-> permission. SONY created many of these products and was, for a
-> time, the _only_ game in town.

Enforcing Suggested List Prices is NOT against the Law. And most
business try it.
And in the Case of Sony Electronics you HAVE A CHOICE. You are NOT
froced to buy becasue there is No alternatiave
I still don't understand you can concider SONY as Dominating the market.

I of course like theri product. I have Three Sony Computer Monitors a
Sony TV and a Sony Combo DVD/VCR. I though also have a Mitisibushi and a
Panasonic VCR(All set up and operating)

And Willingly and Freely paid a Premimum for the Sony's.
THAT is the Amercian Way and I love it!!
