PE> You will look just as silly if it turns out to
PE> be a Sportster bug that USR have finally fixed.

BG> No, not at all.

Fraid so, hilarious actually |-)

BG> In fact, you might recall that I said exactly that just a
BG> couple of days ago, right after the V.34+ EPROM was fitted.

PE> Yes, but it's exactly what you CATEGORICALLY DENIED
PE> could POSSIBLY be the case BEFORE you had your new EPROM.

He's right |-)

Corse even you couldnt deny the results AFTER then new rom.

BG> I said that I've concluded that there was nothing
BG> wrong with any of my three earlier EPROMs,

There was, atrocious handshaking problems to Paul with
other than a Courier on his line. AND even more severe
problems to CHH. VERY clear evidence of a problem.

BG> just that the fourth one (the V.34+ upgrade) was announced as being
BG> superior in its connect speeds, and that it proved to be so in reality.

Still plenty of evidence of a real problem with those THREE previous
roms. And now after some decent stats, that its now been fixed in the
latest one. Tho the comments of some others in USR_Modems with that
V34+ rom are a bit of a worry even now. Even more of a worry that
THEY found it made THEIR Sportster WORSE, not better.

BG> I even x-posted USR's technical data for you to read,
BG> so it's not my problem if you chose to ignore it.

Pity that thats not relevant to the actual evidence of real calls.

PE> And indeed, the next problem you have with your modem, you'll be
PE> going around, blowing wind out of your arse with things like "Nope,
PE> whilst there were some problems with the old EPROMs, these new ones
PE> I have are absolutely superb, the fault is definitely with YOUR
PE> modem", no matter who "YOUR" is. At least Bob thinks you're a
PE> modem expert anyway. But then Bob thinks he's a TV expert.

He does have rather a way with words doesnt he ? |-)

He's dead right tho.
