Rod, at 09:35 on Mar 17 1996, you wrote to Bill Grimsley... BG> Oh well, I've put the ball back in Joe's court now. Let's wait for his response before you actually pass judgment, lest you start sounding like a zealot yourself. RS> There is some VERY fundamental problem there when calling RS> ALL the non USR modems tried so far, and he just closes RS> his eyes and hopes it will go away if he ignores it. Or he might have just decided that there's nothing wrong with USR's stats, and that Rockwell can go fuck themselves instead. Seems you're pretty quick to want to heap the blame on USR too, Rod. RS> Do you know of any V34 Motorolas you can call and see if its RS> just Rockwell datapump modems affected or non USRs in general ? RS> Probably Arfurs Camelot Swamp might be best. It would also be RS> handy with its very good stats, just not having the full graph. Yeah, his is the only one which immediately comes to mind. BG> Fortunately, I kept the logs for those two calls, BG> so let's have a look at them again, shall we ? RS> Basically means that the line probe data wart is a separate RS> issue to the handshaking failures by the looks of it. Not only am I not 100% convinced that the USR's line probe stats are faulty, the more I think about it, the more I tend to believe them to be fairly accurate after all, and that Rockwells are the inaccurate ones. If you can PROVE otherwise, please do so. However, until then... Regards, Bill --- Msgedsq/2 3.20* Origin: Logan City, SEQ +61 7 3200 8606 MO (3:640/305.9) SEEN-BY: 640/305 711/934 |
