That might be tricky!  First get it apart and clean it up with plain warm
water, then blow dry with a warm hair dryer after blotting off the excess
water.  Assemble as much as you can WITHOUT putting the cover with the
buttons back on, and install the batteries.  Glue a very small piece of
aluminum foil dull-side-to-the-eraser end of a pencil (note that the foil
has a shiny side and a dull side - the shiny side is pure aluminum, the
dull side has a 'wax' coating).  Apply the new "button" to the
contact points of the non-working functions with mild to medium pressure
and see that the function works.  If it _does_, then you need the
"button repair" stuff.  In the case of "cola spills",
the cola most often attacks and dissolves the silver painted traces
connecting the buttons, in which case you will need the trace repair stuff
(same for the new 'mylar membrane' computer keyboards).

Ain't that the truth!  And I've never seen any brand of
"universal" that covers ALL the functions of the original.   :-((
