Ok fine, it's not an OS patch then, but if it requires the distribution be
modified then it definitely is the responsibility of the distro vendor to
provide a patch, the distribution has a flaw that needs fixed so who else
is going to do it?

I have a knoppix CD, you think I'm going to go to 20 different vendors to
see if there are any patches? You're nuts, I'm going to download the
current knoppix distribution to get up to date.
