Could be.  In my instance it was my own fault.  I actually debated the idiots
given various scriptural refences because I knew how way whacky they were. It's
not hard to win an argument with them when you force them to look at the greek
and other ancient translations of scripture... this is something they were not
prepared for. Hence this lady kept bringing higher-up mucky-mucks over to my
house but they couldn't fight what was in front of their eyes.. (John 1:1 which
is translated differently in their thingy) until they finally gave up.  That
lady was in tears (seriously).  I told her open your eyes if you are really
that concerned about this stuff.. the world is a wonderful place
:)

There was never a chance of me joining them that's for sure.  I think I was
bored and since I really like to read,  somewhere in there I'd purchased a
number of interlinear books. Plus I taught myself greek then just because I
could.  Ancient greek is a stretch though I'll tell ya .. Still was very
interesting.

But yes, it was a good thing for her that I got her out of that world.. she was
a bit dependant growing up which I think influenced the situation.
