No. It's never allowed. Besides, he's outward bound-- clearly an individual
prone to argument. I don't believe we'll be hearing from him anymore.
My appologies to everyone for wasting so much time with him. The problem
was this carry-over feuding from the other echos. In all honesty some of
the regulars here went a bit too far, violating the rules themselves.
What I saw was an irate man defending himself.
Y'all put me in an awkward spot.. I'm not comfortable with the call for
his banishment. Not so much for Herman himself, but the fact that we might
have railroaded him out of here unfairly. That is why I took up
conversation with him as "Moderator" in regards to a legitimate topic--
to prove his argumentative nature in the face of reasonable discourse.
With that, I quote from the not-often-posted rules of this echo:
Rules of conduct of participants
--------------------------------
(1) Flaming, i.e. a personal attack on any participant is NEVER allowed.
(2) [...irrelevant....]
(3) Particpants are here in this echo knowing that they are under no
obligation to give help. They are simply volunteering their help.
(4) When help is given, participants are under no obligation to believe or
accept anything that was said to them.
(5) Help may not be forced upon another participant.
(6) [...irrelevant....]
(7) Participants should take questions, comments or complaints about the
moderator's actions to the moderator first, via private netmail if
possible.
