Quoting Ross Cassell on Wed 19 May 2004 18:43 to Jan Vermeulen:

rc>>> Very key distinction you make there.

rc>>> Its how the coordinator structure in Zone 2 has chosen to
rc>>> interpret policy, that interpretation is not universal.

JV>> But it should be. You are confusing "accept" with
"read".

rc> and of course the way policy has been read or rather whats been
rc> read into it, has always been infallible?

Not so. P4 is built like a book of law. For a given problem, you start
reading at the top and note what is written. In this case, it is where it
says that your system must be open to receive netmail (1.2.2 and 1.3.3). No
restriction is given.

Only in 2.1.7 sub 2 it is explained what you can do with private mail
addressed to you. Passwording out is not mentioned as a 'legal' means.

JV>> As always, you should read and understand all relating parts of
JV>> P4.7 before you voice your opinion.

rc> I know more about pee4 than you know..

rc> I have seen many people read into it shit that wasnt there, more
rc> recently your ZC, he did it just the other day..

We were discussing the Vlist/Witt case, were we not?
