subject: Internet Trek Mailing List

TM> Please let me know how to subscribe to the internet Trek mailing list.
TM> Also, do we have any TOS fans here? I grew up with TOS and even though

TM> can't find any reruns in my area I am still a big fan.
The TREK Internet Mailing List was created in recognition of the fact
that many former participants in this Echo no longer have good Fidonet
access.
You can subscribe by sending an E-Mail message to: majordomo@vyger.net
On the first line of the message put:
subscribe trek
Your request will be processed automaticly by the server.
I encourage you to continue participating here in the TREK Fidonet Echo,
which is the oldest of the computer Star Trek conferences. You are also
welcome to join the Internet mailing list.
In answer to your other question, yes, there are certainly TOS fans
here. I, for one, watched the American premier of Star Trek in 1966.
The TOS vision of racial harmony and a bright future made an enormous
impact on viewers during those years of race riots and the Vietnam war.
TNG, DSN and VOY may be more sophisticated in many ways, but they will
never have the impact that TOS did.
