THC> So-called skeptics seem to have two levels of proof: one for
THC> "ordinary" claims and a second for "extraordinary" claims. UFO's fall
THC> into the category of extraordinary claims, and thus require proof that
THC> is so compelling that it can't possibly be ignored or explained away.
THC> Unfortunately, no such proof is available even for ordinary claims.
THC> It is indeed vexing. Some people would require less evidence to
THC> convict you of murder than to be convinced that you saw a UFO. (And I
THC> don't necessarily mean an alien spacecraft. I mean just to convince
THC> them that what you saw wasn't just a misidentified mundane object.)
Hi Troy,
Well you have summed it all up pretty well. We are a split bunch.
We are all interested in the phenomenon, some of us have actually seen
something, others are really skeptical but in truth are already half
convinced, they just like to debate it, to put forth the last standing
viewpoint, give me that alien ashtray. And yet they know no one has it.
Hell I know no one has it.
So they claim to be true skeptics. But a true skeptic would not even
bother with this subject, they would walk on. So what we have here are
people who are skeptically inclined but waiting for some data or
justification to come forth. They know the implications as well as I. Pro
or not, people here are aware of the ramifications. The dangers. Perhaps
that is why our skeptical friends keep tabs on our emerging tales. Because
deep down they know in theory anything is possible. And that this is a
serious issue that needs to be settled one way or another..........
Happy Trails,
Fred.
