Hello David,
After what Mickysoft had said about stepped up marketing for 5.0,
I went on over to the Central Library. There I looked through every
Computerworld and PC Week from April to November. I found exactly 1
mention of FP, in PC Week, where it said it would Not be included in
the Suite You quoted about from Infoworld. I am sure You & IW have it
correct, which means the only recent press I found is erroneous anyway!
Then I went through the past year of MSDN and this is all I could find
in a hurry about FoxPro, from the December 1996, MSDN, p. 3:
" Remote Automation originally shipped with the Enterprise Edition of
Visual BASIC 4.0, which is why you see most of the articles detailing
Remote Automation using Visual BASIC as the default language. That is
rapidly changing. Visual C++ 4.2 Enterprise Edition now also ships
Remote Automation, as does Visual FoxPro 5.0... "
( Remote Automation is Microsoft's new term for Network OLE. )
I think that the way most Microcomputer publications are now,
they have said all they will about FP 5 by now or they will wait for
6.0, before writing any more, if at all. That is of course unless some
talented person like You does it for them! If You are interested I
suggest contacting Dr. Dobbs and have them send a copy of their
"Author Writing Guidelines". It will let you know what they expect.
George Goley broke the ground, I bet they are open to more FoxPro now.

Hope You and Your's have a great new year,
                            den
