Hi Sylvia,
SL> Provo is about an hour drive. I am not sure of the mileage. With the
SL> traffic congestion here, it is not a fun drive. The quilt shop was a
SL> lot of fun. My husband reclined his seat in the car and said to take
SL> as long as I liked. So I did!
Sounds about as far as from here to Tucson. It's 75 road miles but for
30 you can only go 55 and the other 40 is Interstate, mostly 75. But
once you get off the Interstate, some of the streets in Tucson are bad.
We had to go again this week; the younger girl is going to the JROTC
Winter Ball & wanted a new dress. Actually made a trip without going
into a fabric store. Steve sounds like your husband; he would stay
outside or go to an electronics/computer/hardware store if I were in a
fabric store. Sometimes he goes with me and picks out something for me
to do for him or helps me decide on fabric for a project but those are
rare occaisions.
SL> night it wasn't until 10pm. She swam four events, won four medals,
SL> and her team took second place.
Good for her! I've never been much for swimming; I do know how but
there weren't too many opportunities where I grew up for it. And, it
seems the last few times I got near the water, I got major sinus
infections. It just wasn't worth the suffering so I've pretty well
stopped.
SL> I took along a MQBE block that I am appliqueing for Julia. I only got
SL> about half done in Provo. I did get it finished up yesterday though.
SL> I am going to try and get all my exchange blocks done this week. Plus
One of these days I may start entering that exchange. I've got a fair
sized stash of smaller pieces now that I can draw from. I doubt it
would be until this fall however with all the sewing I've got to do this
spring. Oh, I did buy an outfit on Monday in Tucson in case I don't get
my wedding dress made, and shoes that will go with either one.
SL> want to get some machine quilting done. I need to get some UFO's into
 SL> FO's.
I have been doing that (finishing projects) in preparation for the big
project. I made Deborah a skirt the other night, went to do the
buttonholes and found out after I'd done the test one, that the ones she
got were not shank. On 2 layers of heavy corduroy, I needed the shank
buttons. She's out now getting some things so I asked her to pick
up some other buttons. I got the backpack project done for my BIL and
mailed it out today; he should get it tomorrow or Saturday. I also
organised (into bags) the bridesmaid's fabric & notions, the maid of
honor's, and the bride's. Now I can just grab whatever bag I need to
work on. After I get the 3 bridesmaid's dresses cut out, I'll put each
of them in their own bag. The key to this whole thing is organisation!
Catch you later,
Ruth
