I'm adding a new file echo to the CHESS FDN on the Filebone & FileGate:

Area CHS-CONV  0     !      CHS: Conversion Programs for Databases & PGN

This will be strictly for CONVERSION programs, e.g. to convert CA to PGN, etc.
It should be in the next FILEBONE.NA (Sunday) and in the next FILEGATE.ZXX, if
you're getting files from the FileGate.

We now have MUCH space at Pitt (ftp.pitt.edu under
group/student-activities/chess, or Web http://www.pitt.edu/~schach & mouse on
ftp Site).

In the future, I will continue to put out PGN files that are small --
tournaments, etc.  The larger ones will come in database formats (CA, CB &/or
NIC).  Converters sent in the above file echos (and stored in the CONV
subdirectory at Pitt) can be used ot convert large database files to PGN.

Sometimes a large CA or CB base will create a 5-7 meg PGN file.  This plan
should save both space & download time.
