Hi Richard, you where saying:
RG>Bill that story about those young guys trying to run you
RG>down, but you were too quick for them does not sound funny
RG>at all as you seem to put it. If that should ever happen to
RG>anyone I hope that they have a chance to get a look at the
RG>license plate number or ask witnesses if they saw it, in
RG>order to report it to the police. If these guys tried to
RG>run you down jokingly or not they may suceed with another
RG>cyclist in the future.
You have got a good point there; seeing them young fellows speed up,
where normally you'd expect a car to slow down, sure puts your senses
on high alert, and if you panic or loose your cool....well, that's
when accidents happen, everyone is sorry about later. I really don't
think them young fellows wanted actually run me into the ground, the
same as I think that the driver of the Pickup actually wanted to run
a cyclist into the ground, because if they wanted to do so, they
could have easily done so....they are just fools, that want to taunt
us and see if we get angry and upset, and act as foolish as they did....
Just came across an article in the latest OZ Cyclist:"What to do when
your right to be on the road is challenged", Which elaborates and gives
advise on how to judge a situation, where you, as a cyclist and road user
are sitting on an intersection, where you have the right of way,
but are worried, that the car on the other side might not give it to
you....:) very interesting..
Have you got your chain jumping problem fixed by now? let's know the
solution if you found one.
What sort of a bike are you using at the moment, or have you more then
one?
Went to our library the other day and came across some bike mags
from the US as well as a book about MTBs, so my interest in cycling, thanks
to the interesting conversations with you people on this echo, has been
very much stimulated, and I realise, how much I have missed in the years,
when I was not riding a bike, but a car....:((((
Happy cycling...warmer weather should be with you soon...
Greetings from Redland....Bill :)
