-> RJT> So I should be able to tell with an ohmmeter, then? -> Most likely the sleeve would be the ground, and since it is a mono mic, the tip -> would have to be the 'output', that leaves the ring for the B+. -> In that case, an Ohmmeter would likely give a reading from ring to sleeve, and -> a different reading if any, with reversed leads. The output would show as an -> open being in series with the cap. That is fairly well standard for Phone Jacks. The Tip and Sleeve are the two main signals. Of course fore Stereo I believe the Ring is left channel. And on Hand Held two way radios it is for the Push to talk line which can be either Hot or Ground and in the "Powered" Monoral plug microphones it is the B+ And yes the sleeve power in hte Sound card would have to be cureent limites as tghey are compatable with Monoral Mikes also. Which would ground the B+. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Shakey Jake's *ALL FREE BBS* Santee, CA (1:202/1324) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 202/1324 10/3 106/2000 633/267 |
