BL>Well, anemones aren't really fish, but they do reside in an aquarium
BL>so I'll ask my question here! :)
BL>
   Hi Bo,
BL>I have an anemone that doesn't want to stay on a rock. Everytime I
BL>place it on a rock, 10 minutes later I find it upside down on the
BL>sand.:( Is it okay for an anemone to roam around on the sand?
I havent kept marines for awhile now but I used to have a couple of
anemones that did the same, I left them to get on with it and when they
found a spot they wanted to be they just settled down. Even when they
have been in one place for months I have known them to just get up and
go walk-abouts.
  Also
BL>are cowries pretty much safe with an anemone? I think I saw my
BL>cowrie munch on an anemone but I'm not to sure about that.
Cowries are probably omnivorous, I believe they browse on algae,
small invertebrates and fish meat.
BL>
BL>Also what can I feed my anemones? They don't grab onto any feeder
BL>fish and brine shrimp and tubifex worms seem to just swim past them
BL>without making contact.
Mine used to take brine shrimp. Also I used to by small packs of
frozen little fish, thaw them out, chop them into small pieces and
carefully brush them through the tenticles of the anemones I found that
they would then take it. Or alternatively if you have Clown fish as I
did, they would often come and collect the small pieces of fish for the
anemone.
BL>
BL>I really don't want them to die!!! Oh yes, my two anemones are Sebae
BL>and some sort of long-tentacle anemone...
some sort of long-tentacle anemone? How about Cerianthus Sp. Possibly
Pachycerianthus "The Fireworks Anemone" more commonly known as the "Tube
Anemone". They are quite nice to look at but mine used to eat my
Tangs: they get quite big I believe.
Hope I've been of some help.
     Cya Nigel.
