| subject: | Re: (~) The Validity of R |
http://forums.studythebible.us While I applaud the "cuteness" of the parable, it doesn't actually apply to the discussion of religion. The "all roads lead to God" argument is really self-destructive. If there is a God at all, only He can establish the way to reach Him. Now, if He, in His sovereignty, were to establish MANY roads, we would be constrained to accept such an establishment. However, if He were to establish ONE road, that would be an absolute. So, for people who claim to be Christians, there can be no universalism of doctrine. The universalist church is NOT a church at all, for the Bible that we hold to be the supreme authority states: Jesus saith unto him, "I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life: NO MAN cometh unto the Father [God], but by Me." - John 14:6 (all emphases mine) Any diversion from this absolute truth is heresy and anti-Christ.
