On the back of most Pentium motherboards you can find traces
that just switch back and forth, doing nothing but getting longer.
Most people dont realize the speed of EM propagation in copper
wire is, depending, about 1/3 LESS than 3x10^8m/s.  That's for
free space in a vacuum, a number more applicable to astronomical
calculations.
