At the time I began working at UCLA's Campus Computing Network its
S360/91KK (KK is 4MB) was one of the 3-4 dozen largest, fastest
computers in the world. Considering all the work that got done
on IBM S/360 OS/MVT mainframes, all of which were 4MB or less--the
architecture placed a 16MB limit on addressability--one wonders why
one needs a 1GB DIMM. Even those days we were complaining that with
all that memory programmers seemed to use it wastefully. 330K for
URSA, 270K for RJS, and so it went.

... This tagline ALWAYS lies.
