 Shawn is right: if Ansidect falsely detects ANSI, you WILL have
 problems which may manifest as you've described.
 There is a very brief window in which Ansidect "looks" at the
 incoming call before deciding what's what.  If line noise occurs
 then or if the user hasn't got his ANSI set correctly, well....
 That's probably a Maximus problem too, by your book.
