I giffed them somehow, posibly using pdftops psidtopgm and ppmtogif
or maybe I just asked ghostscript to print them as gifs...

is there a dos ghostview .... (hmm prolly not seing as it wants X), anyway,
ghostview is way-slow with PDF files. xpdf is much faster.
