height of presumptuous folly and unbridled hubris!

This is why even Job, whom God Himself called 'perfect' (Job 1:8), would not
dare to claim to understand God. Remember he said about God:

   who does great things beyond understanding,
      and marvelous things without number. 
   Lo, he passes by me, and I see him not;
     he moves on, but I do not perceive him.  (Job 9:10-11 RSVA)

This is why St. John the Evangelist says:

   No one has ever seen God (Jn 1:18)

No, we do not _understand_ God. Rather, we are drawn into union with Him by
faith. If Mary Baker Eddy did not understand this, then perhaps that is a harsh
commentary on the 'spirituality' of Mary Baker Eddy!
