On 04/15/98 WALTER LUFFMAN was overheard discussing The Abject Hypocrisy
of with JOHN SAMPSON
WL> JS> As I sit here and listen to the LIbEral pundits, like Geraldo,
harles
WL> JS> Grodin, and others, rejoicing in uncontrollable glee with the recent
WL> JS> dismissal of the Paul Jones lawsuit against the Unagroper, I think to
WL> JS> myself that they don't get it or don't WANT to get it.
WL>They get it, John; they just don't want to admit it because it
WL>would mean that their icon is a disgusting creep. Besides, if
WL>they publicly claimed that they disagreed with Judge Wright,
WL>that would give some indication of their moral standards.
WL>(Cheering Judge Wright's dismissal of the suit also gives an
WL>indication of their moral standards, but they can always attempt
WL>to weasel out if confronted on that.)
Geraldo is the biggest offender. When OJ had been arrested for Nicole's
murder, Geraldo had all but convicted him even before the trial had
begun and a single piece of evidence had been submitted.
NOW, he's demanding that we wait until there's a trial and evidence is
submitted before we "rush to judgement". Yeah, like he did in the OJ
thing?
WL>I'm satisfied that the encounter in the hotel room was much as
WL>Mrs. Jones has said all along. I am not, and never have been,
WL>completely convinced that she was as offended at the time as
WL>she now claims; nor am I convinced that Clinton even remembered
WL>her well enough to hurt her chances for promotion afterward.
And that's why Judge Weber-Wright tossed it. If Jones didn't suffer the
requisite damages, there's no case.
WL>Put another way, I haven't decided if the act was anywhere near
WL>as serious as Mrs. Jones and her attorneys have indicated all
WL>along. That's okay, because I'm not a juror in Jones v. Clinton
WL>and don't have all the evidence that has been collected by both
WL>sides. But Judge Wright has acted to block _anyone_ from sitting
WL>on that jury and examining the evidence -- and that is _not_ all
WL>right. I'm waiting for an appeal of her decision to be heard,
WL>and I hope to see her overturned...which won't be the first time
WL>that has happened in this case.
Latest news is that there will be a press conference tomorrow (Thursday)
by Jones to announce if she will appeal the decision. Pundits are
already saying she will.
WL> JS> Add to this, Clinton's gleeful reaction to the case being tossed, and
WL> JS> one gets the impression that Clinton was RELIEVED he did not have to
WL> JS> go to court on this one. His reaction was NOT, IMHO, the reaction of
an
WL> JS> innocent man. For if it had been me and I was innocent, I would have
WL> JS> DEMANDED my day in court and would be suing Ms. Jones into the next
WL> JS> century for defamation.
WL>We already know Clinton has no sense of shame; apparently he
WL>either is counting on Judge Wright's decision not being
WL>overturned, or he lacks the intelligence with which even his
WL>harshest critics echo have credited him. This matter is not
WL>over; even if he never has an opportunity to try to charm a
WL>jury (and then claim they were biased against him if/when they
WL>find him guilty anyway), the history books (well, some of them
WL>anyway) will record him as a sleazeball and suspected criminal.
WL>He clearly doesn't care about his party, but the longer this
WL>goes without a resolution, the longer it will continue to will
WL>hurt the electoral chances of all Democrats -- even those who
WL>are actually good people at heart and merely disagree with us
WL>conservatives on what gummint should and should not do.
There are a few Conservative Democrats. Jim Trafficant of Ohio is one of
them. God Bless him.
As for Billy Jeff, he has no shame, no conscience, no remorse. He's out
for himself and no one else. The scary part is that Hillary appears to
be out for HERself as well and has decided, from all appearances, to
overlook all of these insults, transgressions, etc. with other women
simply to allow Hillary to have power.
I am convinced that Hillary will make a run at the Presidency. Perhaps
not in 2000, but sometime in the future. She craves the power. It's that
simple.
WL> JS> During all of this nonsense, we've had LIbEral FOBs getting up on
WL> JS> national television saying that it didn't matter if Clinton committed
WL> JS> adultery, didn't matter if he lied about it under oath, didn't matter
WL> JS> if he suborned perjury, didn't matter if he obstructed justice.
WL>They have to say that for the simple reason that some of them
WL>know, and the rest certainly suspect, that he actually did all
WL>those things. They can't convince many people that he's not
WL>guilty of the charges and allegations, so they have to try to
WL>persuade the public that whatever he did is no more serious
WL>than spitting on a sidewalk.
