VK>Dark Side of the moon was one of the most progressive albums of all time.

IMHO, it wasn't anywhere near as progressive as Yes' "Close to the
Edge," ELP's first Album, Tull's "Passion Play," or King Crimson's
"Starless & Bible Black," all contemporaries.
You're right about the Billboard charts, it spent a truly phenominal
time in the top 100. But THAT certainly doesn't make it progressive,
and I don't recall it "shocking" anyone. It's a very pleasant mostly
mellow album though and the live show was great, so good that after I
saw it in Pittsburgh I went to see it 4 days later in Akron. The Akron
show at the outdoor Blossom Music Center, home of the Cleveland
Symphony was truly awesome. "A Pillow of Winds" and "Echoes" from
"Meddle" were my favorite performances. For "Shamus," they actually
brought dogs out on stage to howl along.
