You might as well say that Unix is pronounced Oneicks. What's the correct pronunciation for the name Linus? What about Robert? If French, it's Robear. Lawrence in Germany is Lorenz... same pronunciation. No one has managed to pronounce Siemens of Braun correctly (Simmons, Brown). Why should Linux be any different?
