Sigh, I've forgotten to mention, there are exceptions, such as this group. I
get them all addressed to fidoavtech{at}videocam.net.au. But they're filtered
first into all the groups I get (10+ yahoo groups, piclist, and several other
misc. listservers).
There's a bunch of other filters sorted into personal contacts as well.
After all that group filtering, anything left is put through more specific
spam filtering, which just puts that mail into the trash folder, where I
peridically check for mis-detected real mail (rare though).
Anything left over is the odd personal email I get.
Adds up to anywhere between 70 to several hundred messages a day. I get
occasional spam in the listserver messages, but a bit of initial filtering
before the group filtering does the job quite well there, apparently, list
server spammers have no imagination, and are remarkably consistant.
Nowadays, I get about one spam message every month or two not detected as
spam, and about the same with mis-detected real mail (falsely detected as spam).
And the filtering is ALL non-intelligent text based.
Mozilla has a smart learning combination keyword spam detection feature, but
I've found it incredibly unreliable, even after several months of learning.
