You know,This sure was a great line of comics back in 91-93. I have some
200 or more in my collection.I read that they are cutting back to just 4
titles a month,as the big summer session nears.Thats the time of year
most publishers do their best to get a title out.Even at this late
date,I think that Jim Shooter could revive this company, but after the
way he was treated, It would take a LOT of crawling by Massery to get
him back.I think that its going to be a long time before Shooter ever
works in the comics field again. I had high hopes for his defiant line,
but the characters & concepts didnt grab me. His Broadway line looked
better, but just as I was giving it a chance it went down.who knows if
any of the titles or announced titles will ever see print. I think that
one of the things that lost some fans, is that a promise was broken, to
have a price rollback, once the company got on its feet,& that never
happened. It would have been an industry first,& would have won the
respect of fandom. Overall,Fandom as a whole never held valiant up to
that pledge. Im sure that if Shooter had stayed,he would have made sure
it was honored. After valiant went up, everyone else followed their
lead, & also jacked their prices.
