Yes.

No. They are not "different names for the same thing". The Father
is the only
begetter, which is what makes Him 'Father'. Only the Son is begotten, which
makes Him 'Son'. In fact, ALL possible distinction in the Trinity flows from
this one differentiating characteristic. In all other things, what the Father
is, the Son is. And wha tthe Son is, the Father is.

And rightly so. For people are not Trinity.
