the developpers (at Warpstock Europe) had no answer to that. So, if I
were you, I wouldn't jeorpardize my system anymore longer.

Kris,
V204b2 would return an error-2 (file not found). I didn't think
Innotek was required either but all I did to fix it was install the
Innotek Runtime package and the Innotek Font Engine. I don't think the
latter had any effect of the problem but maybe it did. Nothing else,
not even a reboot. It then started and run - with no start up crash as
you say occurs for your system. So one or the other probably added a
file (or files) needed to run.
Having played with the RC1 version some, I hate to be be overly
critical of developers and eCS progress but I can't believe anyone
would say this is a release candidate when it takes over a minute to
save a simple 15K writer file. I do have it installed on HPFS and am
running it on eCS 1.1 but, IMHO, this is NOT a file system issue as
there is essentially no HD activity during this time! Also numerous
app lock ups of 15-30 second duration. I like the features but this
turkey is DOA if very obvious performance problems (plural) are not
fixed in a timely manner. I will continue to hold out hope for it for
the time being but this tree needs some shaking. Maybe someone can
enlighten me on how I am wrong (besides telling me it needs JFS).
IMHO, eCS needs this app to be more successful.
I haven't tried very hard to find answers but just who is the
developer, the code writers? Is this truly a Linux StarOffice port? If
so, why is it so slow and unresponsive (and I am not just speaking
about HD related performance)? What compiler is used? Does the FTLib
affect screen performance? And why have a readme for the Linux system
requirements?
Jim
