In post , Matthew asks: >What does the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus have to do with >whether or not Enoch died? I don't see a connection; Enoch was >clearly an exceptional case, not an ordinary one. Well, I was thinking of a bit more of this discussion than whether or not Enoch died. For a connection consider counterpoint; whereas, neither Enoch nor Elijah may have died, the three men in Jesus' story did die. Yet they are not asleep, in some sense they remain conscious and active somewhere beyond death. A judgment is implied contemporaneous with the rich man's brothers being alive in their father's house. So, I was curious what others might make of this story. 2 ((( s.r.c.b-s is a moderated group.
