The latest issue of Popular Mechanics has an article on the 2
currently-available electric automobiles, one from GM, the other from Honda.
They found that the GM car would go about 50 miles before needing a charge if
they drove it carefully, only 14 if they thrashed it. The Honda did a bit
better, as it uses high-tech batteries (nickle metal hydride instead of
lead-acid).
