You can very well use a 15A PS with a 100 W transceiver provided you
don't need all those 100 watts. Especially on SSB and CW the average
power drawn from the PS is very much less than those 20 Amps.
Digital modes like RTTY, PSK and others compair to AM and and draw a
continuous current but even those modes can be run from a 15 A PS
provided you don't use the full 100 Watt's of the available output.
Still better: Feed the transceiver from a 12 V battery and connect the
PS15 i parallel to the battery. That way the TRX will be able to pull
the full 20 Amps from the battery while the PS will keep the battery
charged.
That's the way I run my home station! You don't need an AC PS for every
rig/appliance.
