8 3/4" ring gear 10 bolts where the everyday 10 bolt back in the early 70's.
My car's 10 bolt is an 8 3/4. And it is typically *not* considered a strong
axle. Its what you upgrade from, rather than to. =)
Thats what my above 'detroit thinking' comment is based on.
