3rd option (this is the one where _you_ would be at fault):
The reader doesn't understand the _quite adequate_ choice of
words, but in his flaming egomania, can't accept the blame himself.

I cite, again, "ALL Scripture is written for OUR learning."
Each verse is for every man.  It's plain.  It's simple.
It's straighforward.  Nobody can read a verse of the Bible and
then assert this verse wasn't written for him.

What a laugh.  I attribute to the Spirit the ability to write
"all for all", whereas you demote Him to the level of mere

No it isn't.  It's not that people choose poor words, it's that
you are soooooooooooooo bad at English that no choice of words
