I have no problem with distributors packaging & distributing fixes.

Take a real linux vuln e.g:

The people who need to fix the hole are the linux kernel people who then
pass the fix onto the various distributions who then distribute it.

You will note that the advisory comes from http://www.kernel.org/.

I expect a number of announcements from various distributors as & when
they pacakge up the fix for their specific distribution.

No I'm not. I was being sarcastic. I know that's a bit of a long word &
even a difficult concept for you but I reckon that Paul can grasp the

However you are correct that "If there's problem in product x & it
runs on linux then it's a linux vulnerability " is ridiculous however
that is the platform on which you are standing.
