Well, the difference is that the viruses with a destructive payload are
usually triggered to release it *long* after they've already infected
the machine. If a virus formats the HD, or otherwise seriously corrupts
the data on the machine, it's not going to have a chance to spread. Hard
to get any publicity for your virus if it infects one machine and then
dies. :)
