Hi Mark,
As a trivial answer - what does force running of chkdsk against that
drive I: running at boot yield?
I use Unimaint - and in the "recover" dialog is an option to delete ALL
file handles for any selected drive(s).
At first [until one has done it!] this seems a radical step, but the WPS
just rebuilds those structures as that/those drives are accessed.
This is particularly the case when one has been swapping variable
multiple disks around in a system, and also when one wants to
unconditionally strip out "old/temporary" network nodes etc.
HTH
Regards,
Mike
