It's easy when you follows this steps:

- boot up WARP from install medium
   - do the required partitoning (no install yet, only partitoning)
     - IBM BM (empty spache at begin of disk)
         size exactly 1 zylinder)
     - C: W2K PRIMARY any size you likes
Attention: some older BIOS can only boot if the partiton to
boot from is completely inside the first 1024
zylinders! So this may limit the size of the
                     system partiton
     - when and only when your BIOS can not boot above zylinder 1024
AND you needs more than 1024 zylinders for W2K:
D: OS/2 WARP extended partition! Systempartiton
          - size min. 512 MB max 1,5 GB
512 is realistic when you'll never ever plans to
upgrade to a more current version of OS2 like eCS
1,5 GB gives you the room to install eCS 2.0 later
           - more extended partitions for W2K and OS/2 in any size

     - when your BIOS is able to boot anywhere from disk
OR your W2K is happy with space inside the 1024 zylinder
       limit:
       Prefered whenever possible!
       D: W2K Data extended partiton
E: OS/2 WARP extended partiton Systempartiton
see the comment about OS/2 above
This gives you the chance to have anything W2K needs to have
together and OS/2 outside its its limitded window.
     - more extended partitons for W2K and OS/2 in any size you
       likes
- boot up from W2K CD and install W2K completely
   that includes its Service packs!
It is required that you installs at least SP 2 else each boot of
W2K will destroy the boot manager again!
Hint: use NTFS for anything that W2K should use
- boot up from OS/2 install medium
   - Activate IBM BM
This is needed because W2K deactivates BM and youneeds it.
No install but ractivating is needed
   - install OS/2 on its system partiton
and thereafter anything else related to OS/2

This reduces the number of boots to the absolute minimum needed to get it.

OS/2 boots well from extended partiton when IBM BM is installed.

Recapitulation:
- Use OS/2 for the whole partitoning
- install W2K and its service packs first

When you have plans to install a LINUX distribition later:
- you'll need a primary partiton in size of 100 MB to get
linux boot installed. So after you've creaded the W2K primary one
and before you creates OS/2 you should create the primary for
linux /boot even as you will install it later.
- at end of disk linux needs at least 2 more partitons:
   minimum 10 GB for /
            8 GB for /swap
Don't use linux fdisk for anything else as to set the
   linux partiton types!
