        I don't know about 1954, but we had a 1955 Delray (I believe
it was called a "Delray Club Coupe."
It was actually a 210 (and sold as such) two-door hardtop
with a plastic interior. Since we had a small child, we thought this
would be nice because the plastic would be more resistant to the
things small children do.
It turned out as we hoped. However, this was the first year
there was a Chevy V-8, and ever since I have cringed when somebody
says they have a "state of the art" anything.
I don't want "state of the art"; I want something that has
been around long enough to get the bugs out of it.
We later had several other Chevrolets with this engine and
it derivatives, and they were generally reliable and trouble free. But
not the first year.
