At the time I read the message this is a reply to, I didn't have any bright
ideas, but today I discovered a new feature of Word that I regret I hadn't
been using for a long time.
I've been in the habit of dividing documents into sections when the headers
change. This seemed perfectly normal and necessary. Today, I finally
discovered that it didn't have to be.
The trick? The "styleref" field code.
If I insert a header that contains the field code [styeref "Heading 1"], the
header will change every time there is a new Heading 1, without any need to
create a new section. Furthermore, the updating happens automatically.
So -- if the "every page" feature is a heading text, that will solve the
problem.
(The Word documentation on this feature is really lame -- I've read through
all the field codes several times, and it never occurred to me how to use the
styleref field code until I saw an example.)
