-=> Quoting Tom Walker to Joe Nicholson <=- -> Note that now the viewer has 1 MHz less color signal -> or information (quality, if you want to call it that). TW> So it was a trade off then. Trade off of what? Manufacturers cut costs and gave us an inferior TV set. They saved $$$ and made more profit while we got a crappy TV picture. TW> Of course if we had have went with the CBS system we would TW> have had to purest Color as it used Pure Photograpg Quality TW> filters for the Color. I have been trying to visulize the CBS system. As I see it, the flying spot wheel would have to be twice the size of the picture tube. Sounds like a humungous flywheel in the living room of every home, waiting to tear loose and go ripping through everything/everyone like a giant buzz saw. I wrote a term paper in college on the CBS vs RCA-FCC lawsuit, but never saw a picture of the CBS system. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Shakey Jake's *ALL FREE BBS* Santee, CA (1:202/1324) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 202/1324 10/3 106/2000 633/267 |
