I can offer this suggestion,  if it's something on the 'net:  Search for it
with google,  and then use the "view as HTML" option,  which gets
you something you can strip codes out of.  I don't know how images would
come through this process,  but for files that are mostly text,  it works
pretty good for me.  You'd have to save it while viewing,  and also the
same with any images that were a part of it,  but it's better than nothing.
