Sorry, I didn't know it was a remake, I don't watch the tube much. Being they
were using old cars, I thought it was the original. In a remake I would think
they could find more modern cars that are even better for high speed running
(Porsche, Lambo, M-B 600, ZR1 Vette).

At LEAST 20k for a nice one, maybe even double that.

But film maker types don't always see things that way. They often look at
EVERYTHING as just being a "prop" and don't really care about anything. I
have known people who have rented cars for movie uses and most of them say
"never again". My Imperial was used in "Blade Runner" (I think it was, the
guy I bought it from showed me the rental contract) as the "bad guy's" car.
