Hi Kevin, I just finished a round of trying a lot of boards and checking them out. Now I've got a handful to work with. The reason I'm saying that now, is that I'm not sure how it works to answer from a different place than I posted. Probably no problem except the Fido delay. Kevin Klement wrote to Ole Juul: KK> Howdy from Calgary CA. I came by there about 50 years ago. lol We're not that far apart though. KK> I've been running a MS-DOS bbs since 1988, and still am. :) Roughly the same here. KK> I use Internet REX (IO) and a USR v90 (POTS) to move fido data around. My KK> setup works good. I also use Microsoft Client - Full Redirector. A KK> Microsoft KK> Network Client for MS-DOS to connect to my Win server. KK> KK> I call my MS-DOS box my retro time killer. Interesting. I don't understand the setup. Perhaps because I have no MS-Windows knowledge. Would you care to explain a little? The way I do it is load a driver for my card and then everything talks directly to it. I run quite a few tcp/ip programs. Even though I have a couple of much more powerful *.nix machines at my fingertips, I like the directness of DOS - not to mention that such small code runs faster than instant on a P133. Do you browse in DOS? I used to with Lynx but find it tiresome and that's what the newer computers are for. I just finished another blog entry about my new BBS adventure. It's at http://voxigo.wordpress.com and (I checked) it reads beautifully on a text browser. Cheers, Ole Greetings, Ole Juul ...
