I have acrobat distiller, you start it up, tell it what directory to watch
and what directory to put the pdf files into and presto any .ps file that
appears in the first directory automatically gets converted to a pdf and
placed in the second directory.

Works like a charm, we just did a 1000 page catalog using that then sent
the pdf's to the printer to be turned into plates and printed.
