Well spoken. I would like to share an article I wrote that speaks in that
vein.

"Alone with God"
by David Ragland

Today's Christian leads a life filled with taxing activities and troubling
social interactions. It seems as if there is no end in sight to the `things'
that life throws at us and we can't simply hit the pause button to get a break
from it all. And yet, we often overlook our most potent tool in combating
life's deadly distractions. What is this tool? Our time alone with God! It
is in our quite time with our Lord that we hear His voice the clearest. Every
single day, we owe it to our God and to ourselves to simply heed the
instruction of Psalm 46:10 which reads, "Be still, and know that I am God: I
will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Every
single day, we are well advised to escape to the secret place of the Most High.

In this place, God heals and restores our souls (Psalm 23:3). When we spend
time alone with God, He gives us joy. Psalm 40:16 - Let all those that seek
thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say
continually, the Lord be magnified. Moreover, God gives us great strength to
face the troubles and cares of this life. In Isaiah 40:29 we read, "He giveth
power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength."

We dream of expensive vacations, thinking they will provide the refreshment we
need. Yet, the spiritual rest that God generously provides is free for all.
In Matthew 11:28 Jesus promises, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are
heavy laden, and I will give you rest." When we rest in God, we sojourn with
the One who loves us most. "I love them that love me; and those that seek me
early shall find me" (Proverbs 8:17). Friends, we all reach the end of our
tethers from time to time. When this happens, the carnal mind will never seek
God's power to restore that which the enemy has stolen. We must be
spirit-minded and make it our daily custom to be alone with our God. He is our
Refuge and our Fortress and in Him alone are we encouraged to place all our
trust and hope. So, run swiftly beloved to the One who knows your every need
and has the answer to your every problem.
