GD> Family Radio Service is using the General Mobile Radio Service
GD> splits. On GMRS you may use the frequencies with a 5-watt
Then how come my GMRS lisence is for a 50 watt station?
On the GMRS freqs you are allowed 50 watts. On the
interstitials your only allowed 5 watts.
GD> effective radiated power limit, but on FRS you may only use
GD> 1/2 watt.
GD>
GD> The first seven frequencies are all in the GMRS at 462 mhz, but
GD> the second seven are all new at 467 mhz.
The second seven, as you call them , have always been there.
They are used with repeater operation. At least that's the
way my lisence reads and what I've been doing for a number
of years.
The FRS freqs are in between the 462 MHz freqs.
