Using an ancient Captain Midnight secret decoder ring at Warp speed,
Paul Nixon, sent the following message to STEVE GUNHOUSE:
PN> SG> mall with a gun in the gun rack, it might not be there when you get
PN> SG> back. If you're out of sight, it's not too hard. That's why most of
my
PN> SG> friends don't use gun racks. It's not socially acceptable to bring
your
PN> SG> shotgun into the mall (to put it mildly), and "in plain sight" while
PN> SG> you're not around is asking for trouble.
PN>
PN> And that's true, too. I took your "plain sight" statement to mean on
PN> one's person, as opposed to being left unattended. Left in the car to
PN> be stolen is a bad idea, imo.
You could always do it like one fella' here in Tucson did some time
back. His beater pickup truck was parked outside one of these rather
rough and tumble bars with both windows rolled down. He had what
looked like a .30-30 in a gun rack in the back window along with a
12ga. shotgun and a Louisville slugger. There was also a lariat and a
hat hanging from that same rack. Now the whole time that he was in
the bar, his truck was outside unlocked with the windows down and
*nobody* messed with it. I guess the pair of large, rather nasty
looking Rottweilers in the bed probably had something to do with that.
:^)

Sleep well tonight, Paul....
