Check what?  It works,  most of the time.  Did I mention that this was also

Solvent,  huh?  I wonder how that would work with carb cleaner?  I've got
this rather nasty stuff I used to clean carb parts when I did a rebuild, 
but I'm not sure how the covering on the sheath would react to that.  Too
bad I need to crawl underneath to unhook the bottom end of that from the
transmission.  I'm not too terribly inclined to do that at this point in
time.

No clock,  except the one in the radio.

I've gotten used to the radio not working.  I do need to get to the problem
that prompted all that in the first place,  though,  having to do with the
heat.  It's a vacuum leak,  apparently under the dashboard and apparently
under the driver's side.  :-(
